چکیده
Purpose Solid-state fermentation (SSF) has been highlighted as an alternative to obtain valuable compounds using agro-industrial wastes a substrate. The present study evaluated the impact of extrusion combined with SSF on production phenolic and their antioxidant activity pecan nut shell (PWS) Design/methodology/approach PWS extruded (PWSE) were fermented for 120 h at 30°C Aspergillus oryzae ( A. oryzae) . Samples withdrawn from incubator 6 h, 12 then every until fermentation. PWSE samples extracted. total content (TPC) radical scavenging (RSA) extracts characterized resulting extracts. Findings use yielded higher biomass rate after (PWS 75.74% vs 87.50%). In general, TPC RSA increased time. However, significantly p < 0.05) values in comparison nonextruded PWS. Condensed tannins showed different trends depending Overall, results that pretreatment joint represents good raise antiradical lignocellulosic materials such PWSs. Originality/value This offers information may be used by walnut industry valorize coproduct substrate produce functional ingredients or fungal enzymes.

The Content of Phenolic Compounds and Radical Scavenging Activity Varies with Carrot Origin and Root Color
The contents of phenolic compounds and radical scavenging activities were assessed in a carrot collection comprising 35 cultivars, landraces and breeding populations. The accessions originated from various world regions and they represented Eastern and Western carrot gene pools. In two-year field trial carrot roots of orange, red, yellow, white and purple color were cultivated, freeze-dried and...
متن کاملdetection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts
in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
Computational Studies of Free Radical-Scavenging Properties of Phenolic Compounds
For more than half a century free radical-induced alterations at cellular and organ levels have been investigated as a probable underlying mechanism of a number of adverse health conditions. Consequently, significant research efforts have been spent for discovering more effective and potent antioxidants / free radical scavengers for treatment of these adverse conditions. Being by far the most u...
متن کاملAnalysis of phenolic compounds and radical scavenging activity of Echinacea spp.
The aim of this study was to set up and validate an RP-LC method with DAD-detection to quantify caffeic acid derivatives in various Echinacea spp. Samples were extracted with 80% methanol. The analyses were carried out on a Lichrospher RP-18 column (125 mm x 4 mm i.d., 5 microm), with a mobile phase gradient, which increases the acetonitrile level in a phosphoric acid solution (0.1%). The flow ...
